With the mission of providing for the complex imaging needs of the growing community of scientists here at Cornell, the Microscopy and Imaging Facility has grown and moved to two new locations on the Ithaca campus. The facility that was originally in the Biotech Building is now in the basement of the new Weill Hall (map). An additional facility in the veterinary school has been added, primarily on the 5th floor of the Vet Research Tower but also in the new Transgenic Mouse Core Facility. Through MIF, researchers have access to instrumentation including confocal microscopy, transmitted and fluorescence light microscopy, molecular imaging (whole mouse luminescence and fluorescence imaging) and high-resolution ultrasonic imaging, as well as prototyping and analysis tools such as stereo microscopes, a spectrofluorometer and image processing software. We provide training on these instruments and general advice on digital imaging, image analysis, live cell microscopy, tissue and animal imaging and fluorescence techniques and measurements.
